Complimentary Caravan
Celebrate this year’s Mental Health Week with the City of Hobart and Rose Turtle Ertler’s Complimentary Caravan.
The complimentary caravan is an investigation into the power of words through an ongoing collection of audio and written compliments collected in different towns. It will be in Hobart throughout September to record messages of gratitude and encouragement from the local community.
From 7 to 10 October, the caravan will be parked in Wellington Court, and the public is invited to step inside a cosy custom-built caravan and listen to a soundtrack of positive compliments made by people living in Hobart, and also create compliments of their own.
To learn more about the project, visit the Complimentary Caravan website.
Mental Health Week is part of a national mental health promotion campaign held in October each year, and incorporates World Mental Health Day, held globally on 10 October. The purpose of the awareness week is to engage communities in activities that promote mental health and wellbeing and also raise awareness and understanding about mental illness, and how it impacts on the lives of people in our community.
