Road safety responsibilities

The safety of our roads is a shared responsibility across multiple levels of government.

The Department of State Growth is responsible for managing the State Road Network including the road rules, speed limits and traffic signals. More information can be found on the Transport website.

Tasmania Police also has an important role to play in road safety. More information, including details on fixed speed cameras can be found on the Tasmania Police website.
