Getting to the venue

Wheelchair accessibility

There is ramp access at the front of Town Hall at the Macquarie Street entrance.

The Hobart Town Hall Ballroom on Level 1 is accessible to wheelchair users via lift on the ground floor, located to the right of the staircase. The lift is also accessible via the rear carpark and requires interaction with an intercom to gain access. This carpark is accessible from Elizabeth Street. Please see entryway to this carpark here.

Accessible bathrooms are available on Ground Floor and Level 1 of the Hobart Town Hall.

Hearing Loop

There is a Hearing Loop in the Town Hall Ballroom, Lady Osborne meeting room and the Council Chambers. Please let Town Hall staff know if you require a headset or the system to be set up for your event when hiring the Ballroom.

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to come and read in the heart of the City – look no further than the Henry Hunter Reading Room.

 

Located just inside the Town Hall from the Macquarie Street entrance, this room is easily accessible and provides a safe environment for members of the public to come and relax.

 

From waiting for a bus, meeting a friend or if you purely feel like reading in this gorgeous heritage vibe space, then we would love to welcome you.

 

The room is open from 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday, no booking required.
