This facility was established by the New Town Senior Citizens Club, opening in 1982.
It has been utilised by the club since then as a venue for weekly indoor bowls matches, dancing, and other recreational and social activities, as well as being hired to other recreation and community organisations for their activities and community meetings.
Expressions of interest (EOI) were recently invited from organisations wishing to occupy this facility. The EOI for this facility have now closed and the applications are under evaluation.
