Housing With Dignity Reference Group
In 2019 the Hobart City Council established the Housing with Dignity Reference Group (HWDRG) to provide people with a lived experience of homelessness or severe housing stress a voice in the City's response to homelessness.
With diverse membership and a shared understanding the group use their experience to help the City of Hobart to engage more authentically with the impacts of homelessness. The reference group provides a powerful platform for often-ignored voices to be heard, provides an opportunity for members to advocate and lobby for improved services and to develop and implement projects that directly support people experiencing homelessness as well as reducing stigma in the broader community.
