Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK)
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) enables people with disability to gain access to a network of public facilities.
The MLAK system has been fitted to, accessible toilets in local government areas and National Parks and in adaptive playground equipment such as Liberty Swings across Australia.

How to obtain a MLAK Key in Hobart
Free MLAK keys are provided for Hobart residents to keep, and loaned to those who are visiting the city.
You can obtain your own MLAK key from the Hobart Council Centre located at16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.
If you are visitor and require the accessible toilets or Changing Places in the Argyle Street Car Park, located at 38 Argyle Street, Hobart, you can visit the information desk to borrow a key.
You will need to show either a Disability Parking Permit, Disability Card, or provide a letter from your doctor or a disability support organisation to receive the key.

Obtaining a MLAK key from a locksmith
Master Locksmiths across Australia supply MLAK keys to people on the presentation of written authority from a doctor, disability support organisation or community health centre. There is a cost involved in ordering a MLAK from a locksmith.
