Bushcare Walk & Talks: Caring for the Bush Through Fire - Knocklofty
This is a chance to learn how the City of Hobart uses low-intensity burns to reduce the build-up of flammable materials across our native grasslands, woodlands and forests, not just to protect people and their homes from dangerous bushfires, but also the incredible wildlife that call Hobart home.
We'll learn about the special care the City of Hobart's Fire and Biodiversity team takes to protect large old habitat trees during fuel reduction burns, bushfire management techniques, and the importance of weed management after a fuel reduction burn.
Our team will also talk about how you can prepare your own home ahead of this year's bushfire season.
