Drawings for Gaza
The /Sound of\ Project presents Drawings for Gaza: a series of short stop-motion films made by children in Hobart for children in Gaza.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A with the film makers and workshop creators.
These films were made during the Drawings for Gaza workshop held in February, 2019, which was supported by the City of Hobart 'Creative Hobart' programme.
The films have also been narrated in Arabic and viewed in Gaza, as a collaborative cultural exchange, with the support of The Tamer Institute for Community Education and The Gaza Children's Cinema.
This workshop concept was inspired by paintings of sounds sent to Hobart by children in Gaza and shown in the exhibition "Small Moments of Beauty and Truth - Art Inspired By The Children of Gaza" at Waterside Pavillion late in 2018.
