Lift Off! Festival

TMAG's Lift Off! Festival for Children and Young People is back from 4 to 7 October, so get ready for some school holiday fun!

Lift Off! is Tasmania's only dedicated annual cultural festival for children and young people.

Staged each year as part of the national school holiday period, Lift Off! brings alive the cultural precinct in and around the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery's (TMAG) waterfront site in Hobart, for a four-day and one-evening program of engaging, educational and inspiring activities, performances and workshops.

Partnering with a wide range of allied organisations to activate TMAG and the local precinct, Lift Off! is an exciting festival program that attracts thousands of enthusiastic patrons each year.

Twists and Turns

Our 2023 festival theme is Twists and Turns. Follow all the twists and turns of TMAG's new digital augmented reality trail, Hidden Creature Gallery.

Turn your hands to making something special for the giant feast in Central Gallery, in celebration of the major TMAG exhibition, Twist. Or get twisting at the festival's famous TMAG Up Late: Silent Disco.
