Light Box III: Light Box gets the creeps
Delayed for a year, but Light Box is here.
This edition of Light Box focuses on the weird and the creepy, as fits the Halloween Season. There'll be some archival weirdness dug deep from the Vaults of cinema - expect Black and White Devilry and Eastern Block cartoons. There's material from Tasmanian film and video makers, with a special look at the work of Al Machin, who has been making stop-motion Dystopian Nightmare Video Clips for US underground Hip Hop acts.
There's also a huge archival Gem: SMOKE EM IF YOU GOT EM.
Thanks to MONSTER PICTURES for allowing us to screen this rare Australian Underground DIY treasure - welcome to the Melbourne 80s end-of-the-world Nuclear Holocaust Paranoia.
This edition of Light Box is definitely for over 18s - there's swearing, violence, confronting concepts and dubious taste.
Light Box will be hosted by Andrew Harper who will give the films some context, answer questions and break-dance if he has enough coffee before the event.
