Parks Week Family Fun Day 2020

Parks Week (7-15 March) recognises the vital role parks play in creating liveable cities and thriving communities across Australia and New Zealand.

In 2020, Parks Week focuses on how parks can positively influence our wellbeing. In keeping with this theme, the City of Hobart will host a Family Fun Day at Legacy Park at the Queens Domain on Saturday 14 March.

Come along to enjoy a range of free activities for the whole family!

PROGRAM OF EVENTS

Gluten-free breadmaking workshop at the Wood-Fired Ovens

9 am – 10 am and 10.30 am – 11.30 am

Sourdough breadmaking workshop at the Wood-Fired Ovens

12 on – 1 pm, 1.30 – 2.30 pm, 3 pm – 4 pm

Weather permitting, settle in for cinema under the stars to enjoy a family favourite!

Bring a blanket to sit on and a coat in case it gets chilly.

Other children’s activities

• MAKEBELIEVE Children’s Entertainment between 10 am and 1 pm
• Outdoor boardgames 
• The Legacy Park adventure scape playground
• Face painting for children will be available on site during the day and evening
• Ultra106five will be running giveaways throughout the day and evening 

Food options

• Food vans and vendors will be serving coffee, tea and hot chocolate, ice cream, fairy floss and snacks, loaded fries, Asian Street food and more!
• Bring your own food to cook on the free Wood-Fired Ovens, in operation for community use between 6 pm and 7.30 pm.  Whether you’re making bread, pizza or something even more adventurous, a wood-fired oven, reaching temperatures of up to 400°C, is a unique way to cook
• Bring your own food to cook at one of the five barbecues on site.

 

In the event of rain or high winds, the cinema screening may not proceed. The Wood-Fired Ovens are in an undercover area.
