Summer might be behind us but Hobart still has plenty of wonderful events to enjoy this autumn. Check out some of our top recommendations this season.

#1 - Dahlia Show - 14 &15 March
Love your flowers? Then head to the City of Hobart Floral Show to see the best grown blooms from some of Hobart’s most passionate gardeners. Say hello to the champion blooms enjoy some tea and scones, and take a look through their little gift shop for some potted colour to take home and plant in your own garden.

#2 - Hobart Holi Colour Festival - 16 March
Wear your old clothes and help celebrate the changing of the seasons with this special community day of colour, music and culture. The event promises hourly colour throws (hence the recommendation that you take old clothes), live music, multicultural performances and delicious foods showcasing global flavours. Cap off the evening with a fireworks display.

#3 - 10 Days on the Island - 21-30 March
10 Days on the Island is back! And those 10 days are jam packed with plenty of events to enjoy. It’s a statewide festival of artistic innovation, creativity and culture that is sure to entertain with a focus on bringing together Tasmanian performers, artists, musicians and visionaries to celebrate local talent and provide a stage for their stories to unfold.

#4 - Big Day of Circular Ideas - 22 March
Want to roll into a better, more sustainable version of you? This event is all about circular ideas and how you can incorporate those ideas into your everyday living, from reusing, recycling, repairing and regenerating – this festival has something for everyone. Whatever your interest, there are plenty of things to discover, and plenty of time to ask all those questions you have always wanted to ask. #5 - Kunanyi Mountain Run - 28-30 March
If you love the mountain then the Kunanyi Mountain Run is one way to enjoy it’s diverse landscape and get the heart pumping. For those not quite ultra marathon festival fit, there are also some incredibly accommodating walks. Not only can you walk, run and extreme challenge yourself, but interwoven into the experience are Palawa community stories and mountain culture.

#6 - VDB Lunchbox Concerts - 15 April to 13 May
Check out the five fabulous lunchtime concerts, pocket sized and perfectly placed on a Tuesday, so you can pop down in the middle of your city day. Imagine some beautiful music played and curated by some of Tassie’s best, set in the sumptuous surrounds of the Hobart Town Hall. These are described as casual, but classy!
