29 July 2024

Margo Adler.

Margo Adler, the brains trust behind Hobart's brilliant Beaker Street Festival, names her top five picks for this year's festivities.

The Great Debate

The Great Debate is always the event I look forward to the most, and this year is no exception. It’s our juiciest topic yet, and the teams of debaters are incredible. And funny!

The debate is part of Main Stage Session 4 at Hobart City Hall, Saturday 10 August, from 8pm.

Hobartica

All of it! A tribute to the culture, science, and landscapes of Antarctica, and a whole new way to experience Hobart as Australia’s Antarctic Gateway.

You'll find saunas, polar plunge pools, and so many fascinating Antarcticans to chat with at our Antarctic Lounge in the Waterside Pavilion, Tuesday 6 to Sunday 11 August. Oh, make sure to check out the telescopes down at Hobartica, after dark, on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 August.
