There was so much joy at Town Hall as we unfurled the Pride flag to kick off this year’s Pride Week celebrations.
As a city we value diversity and inclusion and raise the Pride flag to show our support for the LGBTIQA+ communities.
This year's TasPride Summer Festival will be the biggest ever, with events running throughout February right across Tasmania.
The Pride Parade took over downtown Hobart on Saturday before people flocked to Party in the Park at Franklin Square for an afternoon of great food, community stalls, fun and laughter.
Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said Hobart is a place where everyone should feel safe, valued, and free to express their identity.
“We will continue to take action to make our city more inclusive and ensure that all members of our community have the opportunity to thrive.”
February of fun
The first week of the Pride Summer Festival is packed with great events in Hobart including Crafternoons, a relaxed afternoon to release the artist in you, and Taking My Sunglasses Off to Hear You Better - an hour of laughs with Mel Buttle at the Theatre Royal.
Activities run throughout February, so make sure you get a copy of this year’s online program.
