Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - Hobart Village (Friday 27 December – Wednesday 1 January)

The feel-good factor will roll on after Christmas as the city turns its eyes to the seas and awaits the iconic arrival of some of the world's finest yachts.

Head to your favourite bar or straight down to the water to watch as the sleek fleet sails into Hobart for the final leg of the famous race.

Taste of Summer (Saturday 28 December – Saturday 4 January)

New Year's Eve on Hobart's Waterfront (Tuesday 31 December)

Bid farewell to another crazy year alongside your fellow Hobartians by partying it up by the water and watching the sky explode with colour.

With firework displays at both 9.30 pm and midnight, there will be plenty on offer for both families and those looking to carry on into the new year.

Hobart International 2025

Hobart International (Saturday 4 January – Saturday 11 January)

Absorb some sporting drama by getting courtside and watching some of the world's top women's tennis players take each other on right here in Hobart.

The tournament, which is celebrating its 30th event, is known for unearthing iconic players and is the only all-women's competition leading into the Australian Open.

Sandy Bay Regatta

Sandy Bay Regatta (Saturday 25 January)

Drama will also be unfurling on the water as the city's passionate seafarers face off in various events across an exciting day in Sandy Bay.

Rowers, kayakers, dragon boaters and sailors will be skimming across the waves while roving entertainers, face-painting and music unfolds on the shore.
