Spring is the time for new life, and a time to get out and about. Here's just a taste of what's on offer in Hobart from September onwards.

Open House Hobart

Open House (9-10 November) is a free annual event that lets you explore Tasmania's most unique buildings, including private homes and historic sites in Hobart (nipaluna).

Discover your city from new perspectives - capture photos, see how others live, and explore hidden spaces like bell towers and basements.

Be a tourist in your own town.

Dandiya Night - Indian Festival

Join us for Dandiya Night 2024 at Hobart City Hall on 28 September.

Enjoy an evening of vibrant music, dance, and celebration.

Whether you're a seasoned Garba dancer or a beginner, this event is for everyone.

Don't miss out - mark your calendars.

Food will be available for purchase.

General Admission $10 and children 10 and under are free.

City of Hobart Floral Shows

Experience the beauty of flowers with the Hobart Horticultural Society's 2024-25 season at Hobart Town Hall Ballroom.

Since 1875, these shows, in partnership with the City of Hobart, have delighted floral enthusiasts.

Amateur and novice entries are welcome.

Plants will be available for purchase at many shows.

Paralympics screening in Wellington Court

Hobart's CBD got into the Olympic spirt last month and it will continue in September with a Paralympics Live Site to be in operation from 1-6 September.

The truck with the big screen will be back, while on Monday (2 September) and Wednesday (4 September), there will also be activities run by New Horizons Tasmania to come and try, including Soccer Shoot Out and AFL Hand ball, mini basketball, bean bag toss, and quoits.

New Horizons Tasmania staff and members will also be there to talk about their programs.

Myer City of Hobart Christmas Pageant

Nothing marks the start of the festive season like the Myer City of Hobart Christmas Pageant.

The Christmas Pageant is a festive celebration of Hobart's diverse cultural community, attracting over 15 000 spectators each year.

With more than 2000 participants, including dancers, sporting clubs, and community groups, the Pageant is a vibrant showcase of holiday spirit.

This year's 42nd edition will take place on Saturday, 23 November, at 10.30 am.

Salamanca Market

Salamanca Market, Tasmania's most visited attraction, runs every Saturday from 8.30 am to 3 pm, rain or shine.

Stretching along historic Salamanca Place, the market features over 300 stalls with locally made products, fresh produce, delicious food, and unique gift ideas.

Meet the makers, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, and discover the heart of Tasmania's creative spirit.
