City Hall a winner in Master Painting Awards
Published on 24 June 2018
City Hall required an interior re-paint to bring the hall back to its former glory. The goal was to update the aging paint colour of the ceiling, walls, stairways and columns to match the original colour scheme.
After the project was successfully completed, the City's contractors Programmed Property Services were named the Winner at the 2018 Master Painters Awards for Excellence in the Heritage Restoration category.
About the project
The project to repaint The details on the balconies inside the main hall required skilful and experienced work. Colours had faded over the years and no longer showed off the hall’s heritage. In order to bring the hall back to its original glory, many colour combinations were tested to find the most suitable heritage colours to highlight the hall’s heritage design and update the feel of the hall.
The Hall's 30-metre high ceilings made this quite a difficult project, and we were very pleased with the restoration of the hall’s interior. The beautiful restoration of its original form, character and magnificence was completed in time to host a number of events.
