Aldermen play a vital leadership role, working together to create and implement their community’s vision, strategic direction and the values within which they operate.
Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Aldermen are all elected for four-year terms. Mayors and Deputy Mayors are popularly elected.
The Nomination period for candidates will open at 9 am Monday 10 September, and will close at noon on Monday 24 September.
Elections are conducted by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC). Information on dates and for those considering standing as a candidate is available on the Local Government Elections webpage or from the Tasmanian Electoral Commission website.
