6 Washington Street, South Hobart (“South Hobart Oval”)
The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for a new building for sport and recreation at 6 Washington Street, South Hobart (also known as South Hobart Oval or D’Arcy Street) with conditions and advice, and taking into account some of the concerns raised during the public notification process.
The development, on City of Hobart property, is for a new two-story building to support the site's sports and recreation use. It includes change rooms and amenities on the ground floor, with club rooms, reception, a canteen, and decks on the first floor. Pedestrian access changes, such as replacing a path with wide steps, are also planned.
Further information about the proposal can be found in the Special Planning Authority Committee agenda here.
A reminder that the Council has a planner on duty during office hours which members of the community can call through our Customer Services to check to see whether any development or work to a garden will require planning approval.
