Public Talk - Inside Airbnb

This week The Institute for the Study of Social Change will host a free public talk, titled Inside Airbnb: Exploring the impact of the sharing economy from New York to Hobart.
The talk will be held at the Hobart Town Hall, from 12.30–1.30 pm on Friday 23 February, and will be presented by Murray Cox. Murray Cox is a "data activist" who founded the website Inside Airbnb. Inside Airbnb analyses Airbnb listings across the globe.
During the talk, Murray Cox will discuss:
- the origins of Inside Airbnb;
- the role of a data activist;
- concerns about the Airbnb "gentrification effect";
- the impact of Airbnb on housing affordability; and
- Airbnb data for the Hobart market.
