Snap the pawfect Christmas photo
Published on 28 November 2019
Pet parents are invited to bring their furry, feathered and even woolly family members to have their very own photo with Santa this weekend.
Santa Paws for a Cause will be at Salamanca Market to raise funds for RSPCA Tasmania this Saturday as part of a program of festive activities at the market in the lead-up to Christmas.
Santa will be available at the Salamanca Lawns for photos with pets of all shapes and sizes in return for a donation to support the animal welfare organisation.
“Come along this Saturday, make a donation to RSPCA Tasmania and strike a pose with your pets to create a wonderful Christmas family photo,” Deputy Lord Mayor Helen Burnet said.
“Most pets are welcome, so bring along your dog, cat, rabbit, bird, lizard or even your fish for a very special Christmas photo. Bring your own smart phone or camera and Santa’s elf will be happy to take the photo for you.”
All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier and under the control of owners at all time and pets are not permitted in the market area.
“The RSPCA will have its ‘puppy parking’ available, so you can safely leave your pet in their care while you pick up some Christmas presents at the market,” Cr Burnet said.
Santa Paws for a Cause will operate at the Salamanca Lawns on Saturday 30 November and Saturday 14 December from 9 am to 1 pm. Bookings are not required.
Also at the market this weekend, Santa’s Letterbox will be available for children wishing to post a letter to Santa, and the ABC Giving Tree Appeal will accept unwrapped gifts and monetary donations to assist Tasmanian families in need.
