City of Hobart to check business sentiment
Published on 25 October 2021
City of Hobart is asking local business how happy they are with services provided by the Council and how confident they are feeling about the future.
Over the next two weeks, researchers will call up to 400 local business operators to discuss a range of issues facing the private sector in the City of Hobart.
The confidential survey will explore business community sentiment about the economy and the impact of COVID-19, as well as satisfaction with Council decision-making and responsive to business and economic needs.
“This survey is part of our determination to do the best that we can to support our vitally important business community,” said City of Hobart CEO Kelly Grigsby.
“The survey findings will shape our strategic and organisational directions and lead to improvements in how we deliver services to businesses in our city.”
Ms Grigsby said the business survey would be conducted every year and this year’s results would provide a benchmark to assess City of Hobart’s performance in the future.
It will also be used to assess City of Hobart’s performance against the performance of other local governments.
Independent social research agency Metropolis Research will carry out the survey with a representative sample of randomly selected Hobart businesses based on business type.
The phone interviews, which start today (25 October), will last about 15 minutes. Respondents also have the option of doing the survey by email or at a later date.
City of Hobart will make use of the business survey findings alongside the results of the annual community satisfaction survey carried out in August.
