Annual Plan
The Annual Plan is an important part of the City of Hobart's business planning process. It is the City's roadmap to deliver the strategic objectives, as determined by the elected members and enables us to achieve the targets that have been prioritised in the financial year ahead.

The City of Hobart Annual Plan for 2024-25 sets out the major actions and initiatives that will guide the priorities of the organisations over the coming 12 months. This years annual plan has been developed with a focus on the key needs of the community while balancing our commitment to support the future of Hobart.
In the year ahead we have committed to:
- Continuing our program of strategic and land use planning to prepare the city for growth and change through the development of neighbourhood plans for Sandy Bay/Mount Nelson, North Hobart and the Inner Northeast area of the city.
- Work with other councils in the region to develop a Regional Sports Facility Plan to improve community sports facilities.
- Developing a masterplan for the Tasmanian Hockey Centre that balances future sporting needs with potential affordable housing options.
- Working with neighbouring Councils and the Tasmanian Government to develop the shore-based infrastructure that is needed to support the expansion of the ferry service.
- Developing a Creative City Strategy that provides a combined approach to creative activities including arts and culture, events and the usage of facilities and spaces.
- Endorsement and delivery of actions from the Hobart Climate Strategy and Transport Strategy and Parking and Kerbside Management Plan.
- Finalising the review the Aboriginal Commitment and Action Plan.
- Undertaking promotional campaigns and activities to drive visitation and spend with local businesses.
The effectiveness of the major actions and initiatives in the Annual Plan will be monitored through quarterly progress reports to the Council and in the City of Hobart Annual Report.
