Castray Esplanade light poles renewal

Castray Esplanade light pole.

We are replacing aging and deteriorating light poles to improve public safety and street lighting along Castray Esplanade.

Nine light poles along Salamanca Lawn have been replaced, and we are now starting stage two of this project, replacing light poles on Castray Esplanade from the front of Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant to Despard Gallery.

December and February works

Stage two of this project will be carried out in December and February to minimise disruption to the public during the festive season.

December 2024: Temporary lighting will replace the last five remaining and deteriorating light poles and nearby parking spaces re-opened.

February 2025: Five new light poles will be installed on Castray Esplanade from Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant to Despard Gallery. It is expected to take five to six weeks to install these new light poles.

Temporary footpath and parking changes

During this project there may be restrictions to local parking and access to sections of the footpath. Please follow all directions for your safety.

Works will take place 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
