The City of Hobart has replaced the aging and deteriorating timber retaining wall at Blinking Billy Point below the lighthouse and World War II gun battlement.
We have landscaped this area using dolerite boulders and a two metre wide planting strip along the top.
This section of Blinking Billy Point is subject to strong wave action during storms and the large dolerite boulders will better handle the worst of our southerly squalls.
We also replaced the existing timber seats with new contemporary seating.
Boulders can also be used for added seating spaces.
