Proctors Road renewal project

Proctors Road

An $850 000 project to make Proctors Road safer for drivers.

There have been 48 reported crashes on Proctors Road over the past five years, most resulting in vehicle damage.

The roadworks have addressed considerable safety risks of the busy road, which is a popular alternative to the Southern Outlet with city commuters and traffic from Mt Nelson and Tolmans Hill.

The project included the installation of a rockfall fence to prevent large rocks falling on to the road and creating traffic hazards, line marking on the outside edge of the road, improvements to the barrier fence and major improvements to the road surface to create a safer drive by fixing surface defects.

Key project work

  • road realignment
  • road base improvements
  • improved drainage
  • guard rail renewal
  • bank stabilisation
  • installation of a rock barrier
  • resurfacing of Proctors Road from above Baintree Avenue to the Southern Outlet turn-off.

This project is essential to ensure the long-term integrity of this key road and will significantly improve driving conditions on Proctors Road.
